Dolby Encoding Engine (DEE) is a standalone, file-based software application, that supports the encoding of Dolby Vision, Dolby AC-4, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby TrueHD, including support for Dolby Atmos content.


Dolby Encoding Engine comprises stand-alone applications for encoding audio and video into Dolby formats, along with customizable plug-ins for integration with external tools.


The stand-alone applications are operated via a command-line interface, making it easy to build custom workflows. In addition, reference Python scripts are included to demonstrate end-to-end encoding workflows.

How to get Dolby Encoding Engine? 

Dolby Encoding Engine is provided as a full-featured evaluation license for 90 days. You can quickly start testing Dolby Encoding Engine with this license and then submit a purchase order during the trial period.

Video Feature

Dolby Encoding Engine supports a variety of file-based video encoding and transcoding workflows, including cross-conversion between HDR formats and down-conversion to SDR.

  • Profile 5, 7, 8.1, 10.0, 10.1


Dolby Vision Transcoders:

  • Profile 5 to Profile 5
  • Profile 8.4 to Profile 8.1, 8.4, 10.4, SDR

 

HDR Transcoders:

  • HLG/HDR10 to Dolby Vision Profile 5, 8.4

 

Cross-Conversion between HDR Formats:

  • HLG/PQ Mezzanine to Dolby Vision
  • Dolby Vision Mezzanine to HDR10, SDR


Video Compression Performed by 3rd-Party Standard Video Encoders:

  • Plugin-based Integration with Video Encoders
  • Cooperation with Video Encoders without Integration
