The Renderer v3.7+ uses a new Dolby Audio Bridge vs the Kernel extension Dolby Audio Bridge that was used with v3.5 and earlier. When you upgraded to v3.7 did you upgrade the Dolby Audio Bridge? If not that could have been the issue. If you did upgrade the Dolby Audio Bridge and then back rev'ed to v3.5 that would have left both versions of the Dolby Audio Bridge on the system which could be problematic.
You should be able to upgrade to v3.72 without issue as long as the Dolby Audio Bridge is upgraded. MacOS Monterey isn't officially supported but should work. Also, are you using the Dolby Atmos Music Panner v1.2 with Reaper?
Best,
Adam
