    Hi,

The I/O dropdowns control the Input and Output paths for the channel. When a track set to 'Bus', the audio output follows the selected Output path, but is not an object and will not send object panning metadata to the Renderer. When a track is set to 'Object', the audio output follows the Object output path (set in I/O setup), sends object panning metadata to the Renderer, and ignores the I/O paths.

If you are unfamiliar with these functions and concepts, I recommend going through the first few chapters of the free online training course at
learning.dolby.com. Reference material is also available in the Dolby Atmos Renderer User's Guide, as well as chapter 57 of the Pro Tools User's Guide.
