Dolby ATMOS Mastering Suite Upgrade went wrong?!?!
I originally purchased Dolby ATMOS Mastering suite, and paid $1200. Yesterday I got an email that Dolby Released Renderer upgrade V5. I went to AVID’s site and purchased the upgrade from a mastering suite,. When I installed the Renderer on my mastering PC Machine and my main Mac workstation on the computer, my upgraded license only works for the Mastering PC Macine. SO how is this Upgrade fro Masteruing suite?!?! It comes only one license!! Original mastering suite had 4 licenses including the mastering machine license. I;m using 3 additional computers accessing the master machine in my studio. Can someone explain?!?! Do I lose my other 3 lice4nces with this upgrade?!? Very Confusing! I’ll neeed to downgrade in that case!

    Hi,

The Mastering Suite was a bundle of four licenses. Each needs to be upgraded individually. Per the FAQ with the announcement
    https://professionalsupport.dolby.com/s/article/Dolby-Atmos-Renderer-v5-0-is-Now-Available:

My Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite came with several copies of Dolby Atmos Production Suite. When I upgrade the Mastering Suite, do I get multiple copies of Dolby Atmos Renderer?
No, all Dolby Atmos Mastering and Production suite licenses must be upgraded separately for $50 each. Upgrades from the Dolby Atmos Production Suite and Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite are available here. Each upgrade requires a surrender of the corresponding license via the iLok License Manager application. A full license must be surrendered, not an NFR or trial. Please see this video for more detailed instructions.

    Best,
    Adam

    • So once again, the guys who paid more are punished to do so … please be clear and put the real upgrade cost on the main page, and not in a faq hidden somewhere … the real cost of the mastering upgrade is 200 dollars then …
    • Or even more transparent, let customer know that if you own a mastering licence you can upgrade your production licence instead , and keep the mastering licence as backup for older machine … your upgrade path are not clear and not fair !
  • Thank You. That clears things up. Lost a valuable time in the studio today, not being able to access my host machine renderer with the Dolby album assembler… Little confusing anyway…
