Post distribution metadata update to adjust a flaw in the ATMOS object mix
Is it or will it be possible to update issues in complex audio object layouts in media that has already been distributed to the public by metadata changes. For example, right now Im listning to an old SACD 5.1 down mix to headphones of Donald Fagens Nightfly, it reveals oddities that shouldnt happen with ATMOS such as the voice reverb being too obvious and misplaced on the stereo stage. Similarly the new Joni Mitchell remix has her voice too far forward above the band on a few tracks, can these adjustments be fixed by the studio later and distributed ? thanks in advance

    Hi,

Apologies for the massive delay. This post went to the wrong queue and was just forwarded to me today. As Atmos mixes of legacy content are completely new mixes it is up to the mix engineer/producer/artist to make any creative decisions deemed appropriate for the format. Once encoded for streaming services these cannot be further modified but can always be redone.

    Best,
    Adam
