Creating a Config file deliverable for an entire album?
Hey there! We are delivering an album mixed in Atmos to Sony and they are requesting a Config file (atmos.IR) for the entire album. I exported an IR file for each song but they insist on one file for the entire album. If each song has a slightly different use of objects (also taking into consideration the disabled objects not in use), what is the best way to create this deliverable? Each song, depending on the number of tracks, has a similar use of objects but it isn't exactly the same across the album. The IR file contains binaural metadata as well as render mode. Am I right to be confused?
I should also mention the "Assembling and Album in Atmos" article from Dolby mentions copying the binaural data from one single ADM to the binaural plugin in the Pro Tools session used for assembly so should every song on the album have the exact same binaural settings? If that is the case, the deliverable requirement of disabling objects not in use per song wouldn't make sense. Maybe the IR file is just used for archiving "similar" settings for recall later? Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I too am perplexed by this requirement and agree it goes against the other requirement of disabling unused objects and unique binaural metadata settings per song. I don't see this listed in the spec that I have: https://mediaguide.sonymusic.com/audio/audio-submission-guidelines/
I have asked some folks from our music partnership team to look into this issue and perhaps provide guidance on this requirement. In the meantime I understand the confusion but I can't give any official advise on how to address this. If I get any information back on this via the proper channels I will let you know.
