LTC not working consistently / not working at all
I have the DAR set to receive LTC on channel 128. In Pro Tools I have my LTC channel outputting from Pro tools. I have successfully done this in the past with no issues. This evening, I started a render and saw timecode start in the DAR before it abruptly stopped. This phenomenon happened randomly 2 other times and I haven't been able to replicate it since. What could I be doing wrong? Here's a loom so that you can see what I'm seeing. Please view it? What and I doing wrong? https://www.loom.com/share/cfdb798a71184bac9709301b68cafebb

I'm on Pro Tools v 2023.6.0, 3.2 GHz 16-Core Intel Xeon W 2019 Mac Pro on OS 13.4 (22F66)

    Hi,

Sorry you are running into issues. From the screen shots you sent, it looks like you are sending out LTC via LTC bus 1, which is routed to output 127 of the card, while the renderer is looking for LTC on 128. Does changing the LTC gen output to LTC 2 fix the issue?

  • Good news! It seems like all it took was me giving up for the night, lol. Its now working.

Actually, I believe the computer restart had something to do with it. Upon shutting down last night, it rebooted itself, telling me that it had done so due to a problem that had occurred. I thought nothing of it until I tried to use the Atmos session again this morning.

To answer your question, the picture was misleading because it showed me having LTC channel 127 selected as opposed to channel 128, which was LTC 2. However, I was in the process of troubleshooting at the time and was switching between 127 and 128 on the renderer and PT. I took that screenshot in the midst of me switching between the buses. At the time, neither bus was working.

From the way the LTC worked and then didn't work multiple times in the beginning, I have to imagine it was a computer glitch that was fixed with the restart.

If the problem appears again I'll revisit this post with the latest update.

    Thank you!
