LFE Routing in Logic
Hello,
I have been struggling to learn the LFE channel w/ my Atmos sessions. Currently within my session, I have sent nothing to the LFE channel, yet in the Renderer, the LFE channel is pretty hot! When I mute the kick drum and bass track, the LFE channel is very minimal.
My Atmos mixes are bass heavy... I keep turning down the bass tracks to find that happy medium with the LFE metering in the renderer, but I am loosing the feel and energy of the bass.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time..

Check the Renderer Preferences monitoring section. Looks like you have the internal Renderer Speaker Bass Management turned on. Set the frequency to "Off" or modify the frequency as appropriate. If your monitoring system has bass management engaged the Renderer bass management function should not be used as well.
Thanks,

Wow, that resolved it. I am laughing and kicking myself that one click has been bewildering me for months... Now I can do all the proper LFE Aux Sends, etc, and have full on control.
Just one click..
So just to know for future reference, is Renderer Speaker Bass Management "activating" frequencies whatever HZ it was previously set to?
Hope this helps,
Adam
