Configuration setups and data rates for Dolby Atmos Renderer
The documentation for the Dolby Atmos Renderer lacks basic info such as possible speaker setups, maximum configurations (13.1/7.1.6 surround or more possible?), data rates after conversion, and so on. I mean, you could probably find this info in the documentation for Dolby Atmos in general, but if a user is considering whether or not to buy the renderer, such basic information should be included in the documentation. So what are the specs btw?
If you download the Renderer trial software there is a documentation folder in Applications/Dolby/Dolby Atmos Renderer that contains PDFs that might be easier to wade through than the online HTML. If you navigate to the room setup topic you can see the room setup window which displays all the speaker layout options available including array mode if the room size warrants it. The default speaker layout is 7.1.4 but additional speakers are activated and routed per the required layout. See attached.
The MP4 export has two profiles used for encoding the Atmos to Dolby Digital Plus JOC at 768kbps (Music) and 768/448kbps (Film). Atmos Master file formats are uncompressed PCM.
