In the Pro Tools Playback Engine window, ensure that “Ignore Errors During Playback/Record” is disabled during mastering. It may be enabled while editing, but if it is, ensure that “Minimize Additional I/O Latency” is unchecked, as this will induce 6101 errors regardless of system usage.
There are a few other tips in this article: https://professionalsupport.dolby.com/s/article/How-Can-I-Ensure-Smooth-Playback-When-Using-Pro-Tools-Ultimate-and-the-Dolby-Audio-Bridge
Are there any other devices plugged into the Mac? For troubleshooting purposes it could be worth disconnecting any peripherals. Did you update Pro Tools and the Renderer at the same time? If not, was there a combination that worked without issue?
If the issue persist please let us know the full specs, OS, and audio I/O used and zip up the logs (accessible from the help menu).
Thanks,
Adam
Thank soooo much - this "In the Pro Tools Playback Engine window, ensure that “Ignore Errors During Playback/Record” is disabled during mastering. Did the trick!!!
I'm still building session size, so would love it if you could look at my system log. I take it you meant the Renderer log? (attached!)
To answer your other questions - no peripherals or devices, I kept my home station super simple, working on just headphones with a mouse and keyboard (via a USB 2.0 hub in a separate port to the soundcard).
Yes I updated both at the same time - I had to for project parity reasons.
Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.7 and Renderer 3.7x worked great beforehand.
I'm on a Mac M1 Max 32 GB 13,1 (2022). running Monterey 12.4
just headphones plugged into a Duet USB 2x2 and the renderer set for binaural. latest firmware confirmed compatible by Apogee (in any case I swapped the cards and used the Mac External etc. but problem persisted).
What did you mean by mastering exactly?
Best wishes

Dolby Atmos Renderer copy
While the renderer is in record. I should change that.
The logs show some buffer overruns and underruns which isn't necessarily as alarming as it sound especially if you aren't hearing any artifacts. And, I'm assuming that were prior to the playback engine settings.
Best,
Adam
Big thanks again for checking that. Yes I guess it was prior to the playback changes.
Phil
Just asking to keep aware ..
Thanks
