Dolby Vision and resolution
Hello,
could you please provide guidance considering the following question:
Does the output resolution in davinci resolve 's project settings affects the Dolby vision xml metadata, apart from the canvas aspect ratio that needs to be 1.78?
We need to simultaneously monitor HDR and SDR mapped image (through iCMU) to two different monitors. The HDR one is UHD and the SDR is HD. For dual monitor display to work we need to set the output resolution to HD. Would it be an issue to change it to HD only during the trim pass process? Thank you in advance.

    Hello! Great question, there is no issue in monitoring in HD during the trim process and this is very common practice. Just make sure that when you're ready to deliver, that you're adhering to the resolution delivery specifications of your client and export UHD/4K as needed. The XML does not record any specific resolution (apart form aspect ratio as you've noted) so no issues there!
