different binaural render modes, Mid, Top, Far, Off etc, are they all the same volume in comparison to one another using mastered stems?
Hello thier, i was just wondering are different binaural render modes, Mid, Top, Far, Off etc, the same volume, i have stems that are all mastered and i would not like to modify volume parameters to retain the original artists mix. I have checked with perception A/B and audacity and thier seems to be a difference in LUFS but i dont know if this is accurate or not. Cheers.

  • for example having drums, vocals at top with the off binaural mode selected, then having the instruments rotating with the "Mid" mode selected, it appears the rotating instruments is different LUF measurement to the drums and vocals at the top, and seem to sound louder. But when i try to correct the Instruments that are rotating by matching volume, then when it reaches the top of the rotation it is to quiet?

    Hi,

The binaural render mode settings only affect the binaural headphone render, so they will not change the loudness measurement, though different render modes will have a sonic and numerical impact on the binaural loudness measurement.
