Raimoraimo (Raimo Sound) asked a question.

Is there no way to edit Trim and Downmix metadata in a 96k ADM, sans importing into a DAW?
Hi, I'm baffled with one more thing: I have close to 20 massive Atmos music mix ADM's at 96k (for archival), that I would like to adjust the Trim and Downmix settings globally for. The mix sessions for them are massive, and I need to QC the ADM's myself, so I would very much want to avoid re-bouncing (which also involves manual mix adjustments between versions and thus error possibilities, basically 2 alternate sets out of 9 source mix sessions).

But it seems there is no way to do this, or am I missing something? I cannot unlock the ADM in DAR, and the Dolby Atmos Conversion Tool cannot convert an 96k ADM into a 96k .atmos (only 48k). The Album Assembler is of no help either. Any ideas, sans importing into Pro Tools and re-bouncing?

    Hi,

Unfortunately not. The Dolby Atmos Conversion Tool cannot convert 96kHz ADM back to .atmos for editing program level metadata like Trim and Downmixes in the Dolby Atmos Renderer. And .atmos is the only format which can be unlocked for editing.

There is definitely a case to be made for this so I will forward to the team to see if this can get added to the roadmap for the conversion tool.

    Best,
    Adam

Okay, thanks for the answer. Yes, it would be good to have, looks like I'll have to go the re-bounce ADM route then. (Although, related to my other queries, I'll need to be double-checking things in this case anyway.)
