I'm confused. Apple and Amazon couldn't help. But it involves them. Need answers!
I'm just trying to understand what I'm hearing. So correct me if I'm wrong:

All streaming platforms get the same ADM master file. Apple Music uses DD+JOC to decode it, while Amazon Music uses AC4-IMS to decode it. The difference being the DD+JOC process ignores "binaural settings" like near, mid, far. Once it's decoded, it then becomes a hardware thing: Apple devices apply Spatial Audio rendering for headphones for BOTH Apple and Amazon Music decoded streams?

If that's right, then the corollary is Android devices apply Dolby rendering for headphones for BOTH Apple an Amazon Music decoded streams?

In other words, given the same device, Atmos music played on headphones should sound roughly the same between platforms, the only difference being some things played from Amazon Music may sound more "far" than on Apple Music (by virtue of the binaural settings)?

And if that's all correct, what I'm hearing when I select "Dolby Rendering" in Apple's Logic Pro is what I'd hear on Android devices?

And if that's all correct, then articles I've read on "how your music will sound in headphones on Apple Music" is a bit of a misnomer, because it should be "how will your music sound in headphones on Apple DEVICES" right?
