In Pro Tools 2023.12.1 syncing renderer on ch.129 does not seem to work
Pro Tools 2023.12.1 does not sync to Dolby's Renderer
on ch.129 - and what is puzzling is that synced to any other channel (say 128) makes sync noise appear in the 'bounce' to ADM (and not while mixing). Does anyone have a solution/explanation? Thanks

    Hi,

Can you provide more information on your workflow? Are you running the Renderer on the same machine as the DAW (via Dolby Audio Bridge) or on a separate machine? Do you have an output set up for LTC over 129 in I/O Setup? When you change the LTC output to 128 have you unmapped the object?

    • Hi, thanks for the reply. I am running the Renderer on same MacBook 16' M1 Pro as the DAW - (via Dolby Audio Bridge) and I do have output set to 129 and also tested 128 - mapped both to unmapped object. I do not have (at the moment) the sync noise appearing in the bounce issue - BUT - randomly although synced perfectly - the Renderer will stop monitoring the Dolby Atmos levels and Binaural level.

I cannot find a correlation to neither the output choice for LTC or any other identifiable parameter change. The Renderer will just stop monitoring levels, seemingly whenever there is a change in I/O configuration (although I make 100% sure to repeat same I/O that worked for me previously.

I erased the MacBook more than once - tried on Venture and Sonoma - the noise seems gone - but the Renderer monitoring issue persists.

  • I actually have my own answer - after 2 days spent testing, it turns out that once I changed the boot drive I was running the Ventura compatible Pro Tools - the issue seems gone. The drive had crashed once before - but did not consider that an issue until I read in other forums that a faulty drive had compromised a Da Vinci install for some users.
