Blanking in two sides of frame
Hello,
as far as my knowledge goes Dolby Vision doesn't support blanking on two sides of a frame (both pillarbox and letterbox), but only one at a time. Is there a solution or workaround for cases that a custom blanking is being used in several clips of a timeline? For example one with rounded corners that is applied on a different track? I understand that we need to have everything on a single track before we run the analysis, but creating a compound clip of the blanking and the shot will probably result a lifted black level. Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this?
Thank you in advance!

I would suggest actively blanking the larger area or the area that describes the actual aspect ratio. E.g. via output blanking. This value is then listed accordingly in the metadata as shot based L5. You can "mask" the other area via crop. However, the resulting black in the image is analyzed as such and therefore also affects the mapping. The metadata itself only supports blanking values on either top/bottom or left/right.
