Access to the additional things from the Dolby Atmos Renderer for Education Full License Purchase Through Avid.
I purchased the edu license through avid. It mentions here: https://professional.dolby.com/product/dolby-atmos-content-creation/dolby-atmos-renderer/#gref

That it would come with additional things like the panner and such, but during the installation I do not see any of the additional plugins. Is there something I'm missing or do i need to re-buy the Dolby Atmos Tools Suite?

    Hi,

The education discount program for the Dolby Atmos Renderer has been discontinued. At this time, the Dolby Atmos Renderer can only be purchased through the Dolby Professional Store [
https://professionalstore.dolby.com/product/dolby-atmos-renderer/01tQQ00000JfoPJYAZ]. While we continue to offer discounted licenses to universities, individual educational discounts are no longer supported.

Could you please share when and how your educational license purchase through Avid was made?

In the meanwhile, you can take advantage of our 90‑day free trial of the Dolby Atmos Renderer here:
    https://customer.dolby.com/content-creation-and-delivery/dolby-atmos-renderer-v541/

Additionally, many key Dolby Atmos Renderer features are now integrated directly into major DAWs such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, and Logic Pro, which allow you to continue your workflow without the standalone Renderer.

    Best,
    Heesuk

  • Hello,

    Date Ordered: July 16, 2025
    Order Number: 5103508

The reason why i need the External Renderer and hopefully the suite of plugins to make it work like the panner and the timecode generator, is beucase i am required to use it for an assignment in an immersive audio course. I also plan to diligently use it for a dual PC setup for my indyfilms adn movies form now on.

      Hi,

Thank you for following up. I missed the part about you already having a valid Dolby Atmos Renderer (DAR) iLok license — including an EDU license purchased previously through Avid. EDU license was discontinued only in terms of new sales; it does not affect your ability to install or use the full Renderer and plug‑in set. There is no separate “Tools Suite” purchase required. My apologies for the earlier confusion.

      Once you sign in at:
      https://customer.dolby.com/content-creation-and-delivery/dolby-atmos-renderer-v541/

      - Click "Select files to download"
      - Download the macOS or Windows installer (depending on your setup).
      - During installation, make sure to select the components you want to install. You should see a screen similar to the one shown here:
      https://customer.dolby.com/content-creation-and-delivery/dolby-atmos-renderer-v541/documentation/dolby-atmos-renderer-installation-and-configuration-guide/installing-dolby-atmos-renderer-software/installing-the-dolby-atmos-renderer-on-mac

Please let me know if you encounter any issue with the installation or components.

      • Hello,

No problem there! That's the thing that's confusing actually on my part, the tools suite part. I do not see the plugins populated anywhere for me on the VST3 or AAX folders.

        My system is:

        Windows 10
        CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X
        GPU: AMD 6950XT

I just wanted to make sure that I am not doing anything wrong here during install for windows incase it is something specific.

Thanks for your understanding and sharing the details!

At this time, the additional plug‑ins are not supported on Windows, which is why you’re not seeing them.

We understand this is important for our Windows users, and I’ll make sure the team is aware. Thank you.

        Best,
