Dolby Vision IMF package not recognized by Resolve
I am on a Mac Studio running Resolve Studio with a Dolby Vision license activated. I have exported IMF with Dolby Vision. When I point back to the IMF folder, it is not showing up as a Dolby Vision composition. Even when I point to an older file I know for sure is Dolby Vision, Resolve does not see it as a Dolby Vision composition. Looking at the same file on a different system (2019 Mac Pro) it is seeing it correctly as a Dolby Vision composition. Any ideas? Please help!

    Hi,

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    When you import a Dolby Vision IMF back to Resolve, it does not indicate as 'Dolby Vision', it only shows a 'HDR' badge on the left-bottom corner. Then if you want to preview the Dolby Vision IMF in Resolve, you can simply add this file to the Bin and right click -> 'Create Timeline using composition playlist', you will see a progress bar saying 'Importing Dolby Vision metadata'.

      Hi,
      It was missing the HDR badge on the file...

      I manually downloaded Apple's latest "pro video formats"       https://support.apple.com/en-us/106396, and it started working.

      Maybe consider adding this info to your FAQ... I was in a bit of a freakout mode trying to deliver a show.
